The Blue Beast has leaked fuel in some amount since I got her. As of late, it’s been getting progressively worse. Given that I will be moving in the near future and have no idea when I’ll be able to work on the Blue Beast again, I want to remedy as many problems as possible prior to moving. Thus, I will be tackling the fuel leakage problem tomorrow.
These older cars have a propensity for rusty fuel tanks -- I’m really hoping that isn’t the case here. When I was balancing the wheels at the dealership a couple of weeks back, I noticed some fuel dripping from the car while it was on the lift and fault-traced the leak to somewhere on top of the fuel tank. Dropped the car down and opened up the fuel tank access in the trunk and, sure enough, there was a cracked fuel line. I cut off the cracked portion, and after much cursing finally got it back on the nipple. That fixed the problem for, oh, I dunno, A DAY.
I went to the armament department and have added fuel line to my arsenal. Tomorrow . . . I go to war. Hopefully I won’t get my ass handed to me.
